Dear Supporter of the Ghetto Chronicles,

We are doing battle for the hearts and minds of our people. This is not an exaggeration. It’s not propaganda. It’s a fact. We live in a world where the most valuable commodity is information. Too often information is withheld from the masses of people. Media uses its influence to manipulate them, often to their great detriment. From slanted coverage of the Iraq war to scant coverage of police brutality in non-white communities, the scope of mainstream media’s complicity in the imperialist agenda and its deception of the public is mind-boggling. Only a realistic perspective and an uncompromised conduit to the truth can save us.

The Ghetto Chronicles is the truth in black and white. Our show is a weekly, twenty-eight minute real-life course in history, contemporary politics, education and the arts. Our guests are individuals who contribute to growth and progress in our society, but receive too little of the exposure due them. We report on the untold news events; the ones that get buried on page thirteen of the large papers, or only receive a 10 second byte on the major networks. Committed to taking risks, we serve the underrepresented audience and express points of view seldom seen on commercial TV. We don’t simply present facts. We take a stand. This is what makes us one of the most unique news programs in the history of television.

We can’t do this without your support. We are not corporate funded. Every light bulb used on the show, every camera and every digital video tape is paid for out of pocket. And our pockets are empty. We are struggling to continue to bring you the uncensored community voice. Without your help we won’t be able to continue.
